SIFT Enslain Magazine Issue #8
Just when you thought (or hoped) grunge was dead… this Bay Area band definitely displays some of the better characteristics of the lifeless genre, as well as mixing in other moderately heavy inluences, but they do so with too much simplicity. It makes them sound quite tight together, but only because it would be hard not to be with music like this. I think it’s the vocals that most reminds me of the grunge era, clean but raspy, and with that same style, but they often fall flat. I don’t see SIFT as being of interest to a metal audience, but to a more radio-friendly crowd, they’d stand a chance after a little refinement. -- Lady Enslain
