Lycanthrope

Obey The Moon Enslain Magazine Issue #6
Wisconsin based Lycanthrope seem to center themselves upon a werewolven theme. This can be seen in their lyrical and graphical concepts. The music and vocals also seem to aim for a bestial type of rawness that melds with their theme. There is a lot of fast double bass and highly distorted, fast, chunky riffwork. This and the growled/yelled vocals seem to achieve the effect they are going for, but the album really doesn't have a lot of variety, perhaps because they feel confined to their theme, or just because the sound isn't that original to begin with. Nevertheless, a good effort displaying their tightness and talent. -- Lady Enslain
