Subversive Frequencies Enslain Magazine Issue #7
As far as techno-metal goes, it's generally a contradiction in terms, as any sign of metal is erased by samplings and programmings and repetition. Such is the case on "Subversive Frequencies." If this material originally had any metal in it, it's almost impossible to tell. It is better than most albums of the genre, as the vocals are growled, the samples are less bizarre, and the guitars are chunky. Well... that was until I heard the fourth track, "Higher," that sounds like a cover of a Prodigy song. I have no doubt that techno fans will enjoy this one, however it doesn't add much at all into the metal scene. -- Lady Enslain
