Sulphurous Domain - Promo 2000 Enslain Magazine Issue #8
Alright, so their name sounds foreign to most of us, and is less than descriptive in conveying the sound of this project. I wasn't at all expecting the screeched vocals and blackened riffs that came forth from my stereo. The music of this project from Singapore could easily be mistaken to be from Norse lands, having the non-symphonic, traditional sound of black metal, yet not limiting itself to the brutal incessancy that such would imply. Creative riffing and slowed moments add diversity to the songs, while the underproduction keeps it dismal, and the vocals demonic. The occasionally sung vocal lines seem mostly inappropriate, but other than that and a lack of overall clarity, there are few weaknesses on this surprisingly good demo. -- Lady Enslain
