Quiet Discontentment Enslain Magazine Issue #7
We've all heard the term "stoner rock," have we not? Grinman go the step above this, and play what I'd consider to be "stoner metal." It has the bassy, slow, drawn out feel of southern stoner music, but it also has the aggressive distortion we all look for in metal, and rougher vocals as well. The heavier elements of this music don't seem to counter its dragging essence, but it does make it a little more interesting and different. Overall, nothing new here, but there's only three songs to make it through, so that does greatly help counter the dragging. Anyone into groove-based, relaxed southern metal may find Grinman to be of interest. -- Lady Enslain
