Enslain Magazine Issue #8
Standard death metal from the New York area. The vocalist here is female, yet manages to belt out some descent low-range, raspy death growls and screams, as well as, if not better than, most of her male counter parts. The music reminds me of Cannibal Corpse at some instances, and Suffocation at others, and the lyrical content is similar to that of the aforementioned bands. Dynamic-wise, we have a fair mix of grinds, mid-tempo, and slow passages. It is precisely this balance that most distinguishes this band apart from many others. The guitars could be heavier in terms of production, but at least they retain adequate clarity for the morbidity of these passages to be realized as intended. Exuviate has put forth a solid effort here, and should be seen live if possible.
