The Embryo's In Bloom Enslain Magazine Issue #6
First impression of this CD: The metal version of Mr. Bungle's self-titled release. In other words, they are heavy to a point, and have a lot of circus-type and other sounds intermingled. There are occassional touches of ska-esque rythms and other unexpected twists. The vocalist sings/yaps cleanly, and his vocal style is quite similar to Mike Patton's. The songs linger in your skull even after the first listen, likely due to frequent repetition of riffs in the song structure. The lyrics are of a chaotic nature, and if you study them long enough, they will likely begin to make less sense! This full-length CD from DC is a must for the experimental type, looking for something relatively new. -- Lady Enslain
