Enslain Magazine Issue #5
This demo from Pittsburgh's 6-piece Crayon Death can, for the most part, be described as a mix between hardcore and classic metal. This band has quite a few twists that set them apart from others. They have two main vocalists, delivering between them clean and aggressive, distorted or clean-tone, slow and fast, and separated or harmonic qualities. Also, the music includes many additional elements, ranging from hip-hop to death metal. Though Crayon Death have a unique sound and a lot of diversity, some of their songs are comparable to those of Kilgore, Korn, or Acid bath. My favorite tracks include "Genesis Says" and "Twice Upon A Time," but in this 72 minute release, there's something here for everyone.
