Antithesis Enslain Magazine Issue #7
Wow! Welcome back to 1985! Many, many bands seem to mock the 80's sound and blend it with new ideas and sounds introduced in the recent decade. Not here, this is purely retro, and for this accomplishment alone, I must give credit. This is similar to the good stuff from back then, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, a few more obscure similarities... Beyond the creative guitar harmonies and clean, high-pitch capable vocals, they also include the "cheesy" solos and elements that we all used to go crazy for back in the day, and they do it with some sort of taste. I'm having trouble believing that this was recorded recently, by the song writing of course, but also by the recording sound. The production is what you could expect from a label release in that decade, where the production was as good as it was going to get with the technology from that era. I don't know if this is something I would listen to, but for what this is, I'm shocked and amazed that they could pull it off so well. -- Lady Enslain
