Type O Negative

World Coming Down (Roadrunner)
Enslain Magazine Issue #7

These guys must be some depressed fuckers! Just the innocent act of listening to this CD could drive your hopeless self into a coma... and yet they have to play this music repeatedly, and have been doing so for quite some time now. The fact that I liked this album came as a surprise. I've never thought they were that bad, but from my few experiences with them, I found myself prone to getting drowsy, if not suicidal. This new album is a little better in that aspect, the songs are still very slow and gloomy, but the pace picks up every once in a while to offer you a few moments of relief. A few of the better songs include "White Slavery" and "Who Will Save the Sane." This isn't much different from their older releases, so I couldn't see any Type O fans not liking this one, and it may open doors for some new fans. And if you happen to run into the Type O guys, be sure to give them a big comforting hug and let them know it'll all be okay. -- Lady Enslain
