Enslain Magazine Issue #5
Why does Finland always end up with the good bands?! "Christcrusher" is filled with eight songs of melodic death with a touch of black metal. The guitarwork is original and undistorted, and offers excellent harmonies. The vocals are sometimes a growl, and sometimes more of a throaty yell, and the lyrics are quite creative. The synths are pleasing to the ear, and are often placed in the background as a subtle effect. The atmosphere changes from song to song, from dark and evil, to calm and beautiful. My favorites are "Curtain of Treachery," "Circle of Treachery," and "Chambers of the Starwatcher." Thy Serpent is a recommended listening experience.
