Disembody: The New Flesh (Century Media)
Enslain Magazine Issue #6
Order Issue #6! This review included. Skinlab have released their second full length album, and are starting to form a slightly more unique sound that they can call their own. "Disembody" is a step up from their debut effort, "Bound, Gagged and Blindfolded," in that it seems much less MachineHead influenced, and begins sounding like themselves. This could be due to two new guitarists, or perhaps they simply added new influences, but whatever the case, it's a step in the right direction. One other problem I always had with Skinlab is that it's hard to listen through the entire album. It gets very repetitive and bland. They have improved slightly in that aspect by adding in some real killers on this album, but still not enough to keep my interest. This is definitely a decent CD, and if you are a Skinlab fan, you will love it. -- Lady Enslain
