Six Feet Under

Maximum Violence (Metal Blade)
Enslain Magazine Issue #6
Order Issue #6! This review included. Why is it that so many people are anti-Six Feet Under, I often wonder. Perhaps there is bitterness against Barnes' departure from Cannibal Corpse, and that SFU is far less fast and brutal than they. Six Feet is an entirely separate project, and should be looked at as such. But this isn't the only thing that people seem to have against them... Their songs are rather simple and repetitive. This can be a positive thing as well, and I feel this is the case for Maximum Violence. The songs remain in your head long after listening to them, and are quite pit-friendly. Chris Barnes' gore-natured vocals are performed quite well on this release as well. SFU is highly accessible, and would prove to be a good starting point for someone just getting into metal. -- Lady Enslain
