Sea of Tranquillity

The Omegan Ruins (Cursed Productions)
Enslain Magazine Issue #6
Order Issue #6! This review included. This band isn't what I would consider as "tranquil." They are death metal with thrashy roots. The guitars are distorted towards a crunchy sound, and are backed up by growls and tight drumming. This sound seems to be missing something, as it doesn't strike one as being very full. There is a lot of repetition of riffs, and the sound is not very brutal; rather more technical and catchy, and full of different sounds. The diversity can be found by their incorporation of acoustic pieces as well as songs with keyboards that give a blacker atmosphere. "The Omegan Ruins" is quite diverse, slow throughout most of it, but offers something for every listener. -- Lady Enslain
