Sons of Society
Enslain Magazine Issue #7
Riot is a little heavier than a lot of power metal type bands. Vocal styling is a little less like power metal than say, Gamma Ray, but it still fits into the general category. Lots of guitar harmonies strung through the album and some really good drumming make this a pretty solid offering. I think production could have been better; it has a kind of flat amateur sound to it. The whole album has a very old-school feel to it, where over all speed was not important. This definitely is giving me some 80's flashbacks- Picture Stryper minus the God preaching aspect and have a pretty good idea of what's going on here. A solid offering indeed, but there is some room for improvement. Favorite tracks here: "Bad Machine" (cool intro) and "Dragonfire."
