Breaking the Chains
Enslain Magazine Issue #7
Does anyone here remember the 80's? This has the 80's written all over it. In the power metal/light metal category comes this offering from Pegazus. Very well produced and a good all around balanced sound are the stongpoints of this album. The vocal styling is borrowed from the Helloween type power metal bands. There is some really good guitar-playing going on, with some very strong leads. The band as a whole is very tightly knit. Over all, the album is a little "light" for my tastes but still a worthwhile offering for those who really appreciate power metal. After listening several times, I would have to say my favorite tracks are "Bastards of War" and "A Little Time." The acoustic instrumental "Emerald Eyes" is very well done, and has a great sound to it. "Breaking the Chains" is not bad, but there's nothing that really stands out.
