Overkill

Necroshine (CMC International)
Enslain Magazine Issue #6
Order Issue #6! This review included. It's hard to keep count on how many releases Overkill have put out over the course of their long career. Perhaps this is because none of them really stand out as being different than the others. Over a 10 album span, Overkill hasn't remained completely the same, but the changes are so subtle from one album to the next that one wonders why they don't just continue releasing the same songs over and over and see if people notice. Though "Necroshine" does offer some decent songs, I'd have to say there's nothing that really stands out enough for someone to want to buy this. The vocals seem to be a bit more annoying than usual... almost to the point where I can't listen to this. There are some good tunes on this CD, and I still have a lot of respect for Overkill, for so many years of dedication to what they believe in; but you really can't spend your whole career reliving the 80's. Sorry! -- Lady Enslain
