Of the Wand & the Moon

Nighttime Nightrhymes (Euphonious)

Simple, slow, acoustic and foklike, while Of the Wand and the Moon in no way resembles metal, its atmospheric somberness could appeal to listeners of the darker arts. Kim Larsen of Saturnus is the mind behind this project, and with the help of guest musicians taking on the flute, cello and violin duties, he is able to create some of the most airy, peaceful, and celestial music you'll ever hear. His whispered vocals add to the mystifying aura that the music creates. There's very little percussion present herein, but when it is heard, it works well to give the songs a backbone. I'd recommend playing this one loud, with candles lit and shades drawn.. -- Lady Enslain
