Madder Mortem

Mercury (Misanthropy)
Enslain Magazine Issue #6
Order Issue #6! This review included. When it comes to female vocals, it is difficult to impress me. I don't feel that females generally display enough aggression to complement heavy music. Madder Mortem, however, wouldn't sound right with any other vocalist than Agnete. The instrumentation is certainly of a metal sound, haunting and melancholic, very melodic and rhythmic, but also aggressive when necessary. Her vocals are deep, generally alto, and highly talented, and add to their saddening atmosphere. This is a great CD to have in your collection as a soundtrack for your depressive moments. -- Lady Enslain
