Enslain Magazine Issue #7
I must admit this is the first time that I have heard Labyrinth. Upon flipping through the inlay card I was greeted with 6 guys in the band. A little surprising, but not totally unheard of. Upon listening to the album I see why they need 6 guys. The music is very complex; technically superior to a lot of things I have been listening to as of late. There is enough double bass to choke a horse on this album. Very tastefully used keyboards and piano, along with some very well played acoustic guitar bits make this album a definite standout. I guess the make or break point for people will be the vocals. In the genre with bands like Helloween it's not quite what you expect to hear, when you see how heavy the music really is. This one is definitely worth checking out though. Not saying that everyone will like it, but Labyrinth is really talented.
