Doxomedon

Evanesce (Dark Artz Releases)
Enslain Magazine Issue #7
Order Issue #7! This review included.
Doxomedon are unconventionally fast and brutal, yet at the same time provide passages that hold the attention of the listener, and separate themselves from the rest of the songs. The influences present on "Evanesce" are countless, covering black metal (mostly vocally), death/grind, ambience, melody, and even thrashy parts, classic metal leads... you name it. Grind passages are thrown in when appropriate, and timing changes are common without disrupting song structure. Their ability to mix these contradicting influences into the same songs is what makes this band original and interesting. This disc presents us with less than 20 minutes of listening time, but it's quite enough to display their wide diversity, musical tact, and their aural representations of occult and mystical views. -- Lady Enslain
