Enslain Magazine Issue #5
Alastis has been around 5 years, yet this is the first I've heard of them. They have a very distinguishable sound on most of their songs, that can be easily recognized. This sound is a very interesting opposition of sad or mysterious keyboards mixed with almost happy sounding guitars and upbeat tempo. Other songs are slower paced with keyboards at low volume in the background for effect. The vocals are also distinguishable, a relatively low growl, sometimes distorted or echoed, with an obvious Central Europe accent at times. A lot of the songs sound similar, but are all very good. Some that stood out are "Just Hate," "Burnt Alive," and "Agony."
