Acid Death

Pieces of Mankind (Copro Records)
Enslain Magazine Issue #7
Order Issue #7! This review included.
Greece's Acid Death blend thrash/death metal with numerous unexpected influences. Among these would be almost cacophonously progressive guitarwork, and at times even circus-esque bass lines, but most commendable are the orchestrated-sounding interludes tangled within the fabric of certain songs. Generally this insanity is kept at a healthy moderation, adding flavor and not replacing listenability. The musicianship is the real strength here, with everyone able to follow along with the odd time changes, and blend with ever changing sounds. Through their mixture of melodious and progressive sounds, they achieve a balance of catchiness and technical aptitude. Pieces of Mankind is a collection of advanced song writing, and should be enjoyed by fans of such. -- Lady Enslain
